Small Animal and Surgical Externship at Animal Emergency Referral Center (AERC) in Northbrook, IL 2006 Equine Externship at Wisconsin Equine Clinic, Oconomowoc, WI. 2007 Small Animal and Surgical Internship at the AERC in Northbrook 2007 Dr. Katie's interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She attends numerous educational conferences and seminars throughout the year to further her knowledge. The most important aspect of Dr. Katie's medical approach is client education to extend patient care to the home environment. Dr. Katie works alongside clinic's very well educated assistants who extend the knowledge and care to her clients and patients. Dr. Katie works very closely with Dr. Hanover, Dr. Susan, and Dr. Angie as well as cooperates with many local specialists to improve the overall care of her patients. Dr. Katie utilizes her experience and knowledge by helping other veterinary hospitals in Chicago area regularly a few times a month. She lives locally, in Wadsworth with her husband, Kevin, son, Dylan, two German Shepherds (Maria and Frida), one cat and 3 horses. Dr. Katie enjoys horseback riding, kick-boxing classes, as well as good food and wine with friends.
